Information We Collect

When you use FaceGPT, we may collect the following information:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, and password.
  • User-Provided Content: Images uploaded for reverse face search features.
  • Payment Information: Subscriptions and payments are processed securely through Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not store full payment card details.
  • Authentication Data: Authentication and account access are managed through Firebase services.

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Create and manage user accounts
  • Enable subscriptions and in-app purchases
  • Provide reverse face search functionality
  • Maintain app performance and security
  • Comply with legal obligations

Face Data

Face data is sensitive, and we handle it with strict safeguards.

Collection & Transmission

  • When you upload an image, it is securely transmitted from your device to our backend infrastructure hosted on Google Cloud Platform (Firebase) over HTTPS encryption.
  • Within our own infrastructure, the image is processed to detect a face and generate a numerical representation ("face embedding") for matching purposes.
  • We do not collect or use Apple Face ID data, TrueDepth data, or any biometric data from device hardware sensors.

Use

  • Face images and generated embeddings are used solely to provide reverse face search and matching functionality within the App.
  • They are not used for advertising, profiling, behavioral tracking, or unrelated purposes.

Third-Party AI Services

  • FaceGPT does not use any external third-party AI APIs for face detection, embedding generation, or matching.
  • All face processing occurs exclusively within our own backend infrastructure hosted on Google Cloud Platform (Firebase).

Storage

  • Uploaded images and embeddings are securely stored within Firebase Storage and processed via Firebase Cloud Functions.
  • Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (Google Cloud encryption).

Sharing

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade face data.
  • Face data is not shared with any third-party AI providers. It is processed only within our infrastructure operated through Google Cloud Platform (Firebase), which acts as our data processor.

Retention

  • Uploaded images are automatically deleted after 7 days.
  • Face embeddings linked to your account are retained until you delete them or delete your account.
  • Once deleted, associated data is removed from Firebase systems within 7 days.

Your Consent & Controls

  • By uploading an image in the App, you provide explicit consent for the secure transmission and processing of that image for reverse face search functionality as described in this policy.
  • You may delete uploaded images or your entire account at any time through in-app settings.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We may share data only with the following service providers:

  • Google Cloud Platform (Firebase): Used for authentication, hosting, database services, storage, and backend processing. Google processes data solely on our behalf as a service provider.
  • Apple App Store and Google Play: Used for subscription management and payment processing.
  • Personal data may also be disclosed if required by law, court order, or valid legal process.

Data Retention & Deletion

  • We retain personal data while your account remains active.
  • Uploaded images are deleted automatically after 7 days.
  • Account data and embeddings are deleted within 7 days after account deletion.
  • You may delete your account at any time using the in-app Delete Account feature.

International Use

FaceGPT is available globally. By using the App, you understand and consent to your data being transferred to and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where our infrastructure providers operate.

User Rights

Depending on your region (including EU GDPR or California CCPA), you may have rights to:

  • Access a copy of your personal data
  • Request correction or deletion
  • Withdraw consent for processing
  • File a complaint with a data protection authority

Security

We implement industry-standard safeguards, including:

  • HTTPS encryption in transit
  • Encryption at rest via Google Cloud Platform
  • Access control through Firebase Authentication
  • Restricted administrative access
  • Ongoing monitoring and security reviews

Children's Privacy

FaceGPT is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If such data is discovered, it will be promptly deleted.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will be posted within the App and/or on our website. Continued use of the App after changes indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
